This year's team: The Zippin' Zebras
Friday 11th AprHi everyone! We’re the Zippin' Zebras, a team of metabolic dietitians at the Montreal Children's Hospital. 🏥👶🏼👧🏽👦🏻
This May we’re running 188km to honour the 188 individuals, and their families, that we support who are affected by inborn errors of metabolism.
Our goal is to raise awareness for these rare conditions and fundraise to help support advances in research and medical care.
You might be wondering about our name, Zippin' Zebras. The zebra 🦓 is a symbol for rare diseases because of the saying, "When you hear hoofbeats, think horses, not zebras".
This quote has been used as a reminder to assume the common cause is the correct one, however when it comes to rare diseases, such as inborn errors of metabolism, we need to think zebras. We need to think outside the box and consider the uncommon.
Catch us in our zebra outfits to honour and celebrate those with rare diseases. #showyourstripes
The Montreal Children's Hospital is doing life-changing work in providing care and advancing research. With your support, we hope to continue making a real difference in the lives of those affected by these rare diseases. Every donation counts—thank you for helping us support this vital cause!
